Sunnyvale begins right where Mountain View ends, and its west side is a short drive from our office. That side of the city holds more than 1,100 Eichler homes, in tracts such as Fairbrae, Rancho Verde, Fairorchard and Fairwood, and in the Eichler pockets scattered through Cherry Chase among other 1950s and 1960s ranch houses. Rancho Verde, an 89-home addition to Fairbrae built in 1961–62, is Eichler on every lot.
West Sunnyvale was built quickly in the late 1950s and early 1960s, with whole streets finished within months of each other. Sixty-odd years on, that shows up as blocks where doors, springs and openers all wear out together — when one neighbour's spring goes, the next is rarely far behind. Cherry Chase residents have pushed back against oversized rebuilds, so most garages keep their original one- and two-car openings, and a replacement door has to sit comfortably on a long, low house front.

🌊 What Sunnyvale Garage Doors Are Up Against
Our run to west Sunnyvale is short — straight down El Camino Real or across on Fremont Avenue. Typical calls are paired spring replacements, cable and drum work on doors repainted many times over, and swapping tired original doors for simple insulated ones in colours that respect the city's design guidance for these tracts. Every opener we install includes the battery backup California requires on new residential installations.
